Just a Thought…

February 14, 2011 § 3 Comments

Why is it that the pro-slaughter proponent for horses talk about all the “unwanted, useless, injured, end of life” horses that are going through the auction houses – but when it’s cattle, pigs, goats or other farm animals at the same auction people try to make it sound like these are high-end meat animals destined for the finest shops?

There’s a disconnect here, and I think that’s obvious.

And, of course anyone who has actually been to an auction KNOWS the kill buyers have no use for old, sick, skinny horses. Everyone in the meat biz knows the meat from young animals is that brings top dollar. The majority of horses the end up being slaughtered are between the ages of 6-10. And these people know it. Pure propaganda.

It’s always been all about the almighty dollar. It’s never been about excess horses.
That’s what I’ve been trying to get across. :)

  • Suzanne Moore says:

Absolutely! No matter how you spin it, if slaughter IS available and there are still “excess” horses, how can one claim the LACK of slaughter has caused the excess? But, the pro-slaughter propagandists continue to claim this, and people still seem to be falling for it.

Just as ridiculous as all those “old, sick and crippled” that the killer buyers are purchasing as a public service.

Not to even mention the drug residues that make American horses unsafe to eat.

I don’t know what else to say. The pro-slaughter breeders know they are lying, but so many of the general public being this thick headed? Depressing, isn’t it….
