Tarrant County Officers Should be Charged with Neglect
September 1, 2011 § 2 Comments
Buy a cow, get a one-eyed horse for free.
Not only is this poor horse a stallion, but he’s emaciated, and only has one eye.
What is wrong with this picture? I mean, aside from basically giving him away at an auction? What’s wrong is the fact that the sheriffs department had this horse for approximately five months, and quite obviously haven’t been able to put weight on him.
The photo is apparently from August 12th.
They posted photos that literally prove they neglected this horse. « Read the rest of this entry »

Excellent Comment

Reading stories that pop up in my Google Alerts have recently shown a spate of pro-slaughter activists using the GAO Report as “evidence” that horse slaughter should resume in the States.
When I read the GAO report the first time, I did see some points that I knew they would glom onto. But there were just as many points for animal welfare advocates, and yes, even anti-slaughter activists, to rejoice over. I pointed out many of those.
What impresses me as I read through most of the “articles” written by pro-slaughter activists is how they ignore the points that don’t work in their favor. When I wrote about the report, I posted (almost) the entire report. I say “almost” because while I did leave out a little fluff, I certainly did comment on every main point. I didn’t shy away from the points that could have looked like the closures of the slaughter plants affected the horse industry. I discussed it. « Read the rest of this entry »
Sue Wallis, President, United Organizations of Horse Killers
June 27, 2011 § 6 Comments
Well, Slaughterhouse Sue is at it again. She takes the GAO report, and twists it around to suit her and her “organization” of pro-slaughter activists. Her email is quoted below, it its’ entirety. Of course, I’ll take liberty to point out the complete hypocrisy, idiocy and lunacy. I love doing that. :)

GAO Report… Thank You
June 24, 2011 § 5 Comments
The GAO – US Government Accountability Office – was tasked with investigating and reporting on the unintended consequences of cessation of slaughter on US soil. The report is in, and it’s very interesting. As I am wont to do, I have commented on the report, point by point.
Main Body of Report
Since domestic horse slaughter ceased in 2007, the slaughter horse market has shifted to Canada and Mexico. From 2006 through 2010, U.S. horse exports for slaughter increased by 148 and 660 percent to Canada and Mexico, respectively. As a result, nearly the same number of U.S. horses was transported to Canada and Mexico for slaughter in 2010–nearly 138,000–as was slaughtered before domestic slaughter ceased.

Candy & Jim Amos – Your horses should be CONFISCATED. Immediately.
May 2, 2011 § 4 Comments
Wow. Not only are Candy and Jim of Lightningwind Arabians in Loomis, CA trying to starve their horses (read my last post: https://notabreed.wordpress.com/2011/05/01/candy-salt-i-mean-amos-i-mean-kampmann/), but apparently they’d like to break a few of their legs as well…
What the hell are these people thinking? I mean, most horse owners check their barn, paddock and pasture daily (or at least every other day) to make sure there is nothing there that can hurt a horse. I’ve said it to my friends before… you can wrap a horse in bubble wrap and put it in a padded room, and they’ll still find a way to hurt themselves. Yet, Candy and Jim seem to have the “sink or swim” mentality. Throw the horse out in a paddock with as many obstacles as possible and the ones that make it out alive are the ones they’ll breed. « Read the rest of this entry »
Candy Salt, I mean Amos, I mean Kampmann… ??

What the hell are you doing over there at Lightningwind Arabians?
Other than neglecting horses I mean…
Oh, right, you breed horses. Arabians and Saddlebreds. Your website (lightningwindarabians.com) is most definitely a testament to your professionalism (/sarcasm). What stands out to me is the fact that the photos of the stallions you are standing at stud are the photos used by the breeders you bought them from.
For example…
The Paradox
You bought The Paradox from Miles Stables and they have a congratulatory page with small photos of The Paradox here: http://milesstables.homestead.com/The_Paradox.html If you scroll through the photos in the little box near the bottom left, you’ll see you soon feel those photos look familiar.
On your own website, where you list The Paradox for stud services (http://www.lightningwindarabians.com/stallions.htm#The_Paradox), you use those exact same photos from Miles Stables. Why, one might ask? Well, because this is what he looked like in September:
And this is what he looks like now: « Read the rest of this entry »
